Spotlight Choppers/Dousers

Arc Light Efx provides a comprehensive collection of spotlight choppers/dousers for all Strong-manufactured fixtures. The selection below will provide descriptions each supported product.

Douser

The dousing mechanism on Strong xenon followspots is hand controlled by a lever above the mid portion of the barrel. Two blades are positioned vertically opposed to one another, hinged on an arched frame which is welded to the unit chassis. The lever controlling the mechanism opens and closes the two blades which resemble vertically aligned french doors. Super Trouper Short Throws and Super Trouper II's share the same douser assembly. Gladiator II/III's and Super Trouper Long Throws share the same douser part.

Chopper

The chopper mechanism on Strong xenon followspots is also hand controlled by a lever above the mid portion of the barrel. Two regtangular blades are channelled onto parallel vertical bars for a smooth up/down motion. The effect of the chopper is to crop the edge of the light beam into a regtangular image. All Strong Xenon followspots have the same chopper component.
