Spotlight Irises

Arc Light Efx provides a comprehensive collection of spotlight irises for all Strong-manufactured fixtures. The selection below will provide descriptions each supported product.

The iris allows for dilation or constriction of light beam projected from the fixture. It is the forwardmost of the three operationg controls on the top center of a Strong xenon followspot. Douser leaves are designed to be heat resistant and precision crafted for a perfect circular light beam. All Super Trouper followspots share the same iris design. Gladiator followspots typically utilize a smaller iris (pictured on far right of photograph) which is not interchangeable with a Super Trouper iris.

Although occasionally an iris can be reconditioned if its leaves have come out of alignment, usually they will have to be replaced after prolonged scorching and warping.
